With the recent election result, it’s more important than ever to keep up the fight against government testing in primary schools. Alone among the main political parties, the Conservatives remain committed to maintaining and extending national tests for primary pupils.
Although this year has been turbulent politically, we’ve achieved great things:
As well as winning major policy announcements from Labour, the Lib Dems and the Greens on scrapping these pointless tests, we:
Now have over 76,000 signatures on our petition to halt testing for children when they start school and we made national headlines with the March of the Four-Year-Olds.
Made more news with our research with headteachers, showing that over 90% of heads don’t agree with the current testing regime.
Got celebrities, parents, teachers and kids to appear in our “You are More Than A Score” film for SATs results day – and over 600,000 people viewed it online. You can see it here.
Gave parents an easy and informative way to find out what tests their children are facing at school with the Parents’ Guide to Primary Testing.
And much more…
Let’s keep up the great work in 2020. Please share this news with your family and friends.
With best wishes for a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
